ALWAYS MAKE TIME TO SHARPEN THE MARKETING SAW

This morning I found myself reading possibly one of my favourite books around productivity, the 7 habits of effective people and in the book, Stephen Covey spoke about the hardworking guy who was cutting down a tree. The guy was so busy cutting down the tree, that he worked for 5 hours straight without taking a break to sharpen the saw.


This hit home very strong for me as we need to understand that this year specifically (2020) we were forced to be on a continued learning cycle in order for us to sharpen our saws within Marketing. We are in an age where there is more ways to learn than ever before and everyone is actually keen on sharing the knowledge.


We can afford to just learn on the job, we need to take that extra step and learn from video, audio and written word. For us to be the best in our fields, this needs to be daily practice without fail. Through sharpening our Marketing saws, we allow the better version of our thinking to show up in the world.
