Become an artist in executing strategy

Today, my reflection is more on how as marketers, we spend considerable time coming up with strategies for our organizations on how we can continue to maintain market dominance. We work long hours putting together a summary document, at the most, a complicated document that we then need to sell internally to all other stakeholders.


Great strategy is not just the ideas, but the ability to fully execute the strategy with the full support from the organization. This requires us to spend considerable time selling the strategy internally, then putting together all the resources in our disposal to execute this properly. In a world where there are a lot of aspects trying to get our attention, it also makes this that much challenging.

The successful marketer will be the one that is able to bring the required depth into thinking up the strategy, then spends time properly getting all relevant parties on board and then takes it further than anyone thought it was humanly possible. In order to be successful at this, the artist marketer is needed to drive this forward.
