BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE BEST MINDS IN MARKETING

I must confess, I actually enjoy reading books about marketing and this has allowed me to continually buy 1 marketing book each month, sometimes two. Each book that I read increases my ability to understand basic marketing concepts, and enables me to have a deeper view on how we can do better Marketing at the company that I work for (a benefit that my employer has enjoyed over the last two years).


I also host a monthly session on Marketing called MarketingFridays, which has allowed me to interact and meet with talented minds within Marketing and learn from them with fellow Marketers. At each session and with my interaction with each guest, I always ask their favourite book on Marketing and immediately look it up and get a copy (this is part of my growth process).

The following is a list books that I think are brilliant, together with the people that actually recommended these books.


1. Sizakele Marutlulle - Play to Win, A.G Lafley (The absolute best book on strategy I have ever read)

2. Abey Mokgwatsane - Eating the big fish, Adam Morgan (Absolutely brilliant on how to stand out in the Market place)

3. Pepe Marais - Time to Think by Nancy Klein, (what a book on building thinking environments)

4. Tebello Tibz Motsoane - Blue Ocean Strategy (Absolutely brilliant on how you can stand out in the Market place and create a unique market for yourself)

5. Nyiko Chauke - Growing greatness, Pepe Marais (This is my absolute favourite book on how to practically become a great Marketer, a great entrepreneur and just overall being great)

I have always found five to be a good number, there is more but I think these are possibly a great start for anyone that seeks to be better, and do better Marketing.
