Good brands have champions, it’s your role to find and celebrate them

If you are in the business of building a brand and have been consistently getting customers to buy from you, then I have great news for you! There are people that are massive fans (champions) of your product, and they are eager to share with friends why your brand is great. Others look at this from an influence perspective, and speak about the importance of influencers. For the purpose of this thought piece, let’s look more not at paid influencers, but just the people that are already buying your product and are big fans of the brand.
These are the kind of champions that we need to constantly seek out, and celebrate by showing up in their lives given the passion that they have for our brands. It is like the soccer fan who has a big love of a certain football club, the question is how do we get our own superfans to come out and live the brand champion life?
It can sound like a great idea without practical application, but the following ways can make it easy to execute;
1. To get your champions, first send out call out to your current clients and simply ask if they feel like a superfan and let them educate you what a superfan does. This is the best way to stay identifying who your passionate champions are.
2. Whenever there are updates or new product lines, let your brand champions know first and give them the inside scoop. Treat them like a friend that you are willing to tell a secret to.
3. When you have a great relationship with your brand champions, it is easy to ask them for something as it will feel like asking about something from a friend, and not necessarily just a client.
