It is easy to want to be surrounded by constantly creative work, where your marketing partners are always delivering more than what is expected. The truth though, is that as a marketer, we need to really become better clients in order to get the incredibly great work.
There is no supplier that will wake up, pitch for your account only to want to give you just good work. There are things that can get in the way of your agency delivering great work and this is something that needs to be well managed with a view of unleashing the best out of those that work on your brans.
In order to be a great client, the following might help;
1. Always give clear briefs – not giving your agency a clear brief is not going to get you clear results. Confusion starts at the briefing process
2. Share your challenges openly – this allows your agency partner to understand what the key challenges are internally.
3. Be a great payer – it is hard to motivate teams if all they are doing is trying to stay afloat and meet their debt obligations. Free up their time to be able to do the work and not have to be constantly focused on finances.
