OUR ABILITY TO CONNECT THE DOTS TO PROBLEM SOLVING.

I want to start by actually stating the good news, there will always be marketing challenges for brands to solve so we will always be at the heart of problem solving and creating art. This statement is already exciting that we wake up daily and find solutions, so our marketing minds remain engaged and we have the opportunity to create art all the time.


How we solve the problems and the approach that we use in doing this is what creates the magic in marketing that matters as opposed to predictable marketing. In painting this picture properly, I must confess that this eureka moment has just found me as a Marketer, and I hope that this also sparks some joy to your marketing career.


In order to solve the problems, sometimes we need to take lessons from other industries and then connect them back to our very own industry which enables us to bring a new dimension to a problem that looks like it is unique to our industry. Another method which is also very useful is actually getting an outsider view of the problem, and actually get a sense of how they view the problem and see if you have not had a singular approach to it. The sky is the really the limit if you understand at the core that challenges are also able to be solved outside of your industry, and sometimes even better with a fresh perspective.


The trick is to keep an open mind, and look for opportunities to connect the dots to other solutions that might not have been considered.
