Perspective determines how far we are able to take our ideas.

Ideas are alive, always and they are with us every time we look at any challenge that is facing our brands. How we view the ideas that we come up with determines how well we do in addressing the challenges. It sounds a bit soft that we need to focus on our perspective as opposed to the actual idea, however, this is where ideas actually live or die.
If you are in a role that requires you to come up with the ideas, it is important to ensure that you have a positive outlook of the idea generating process. This will make it digestible when some of your ideas do not make the cut as the perspective will be positive and seen as an opportunity to learn.
In roles where you are approving ideas, the responsibility is even higher as you need to understand that no one presents an idea from a negative place. At the time of presenting, it is seen as a great idea and you can either give someone the opportunity to fully test out a great idea or you can stop the idea in its tracks (given that you might have a bias to the idea).
One thing is for sure though, if the perspective is from a positive space, then the process will definitely yield positive results.
