Sometimes you need to re-start with a fresh perspective.

There is a reality that we all need to admit, that it is easy to spend so much time in a particular category or industry that you start to miss the things that are obvious and need to be changed. When you are deep in it and working through the challenges of your industry day by day, it is easy to feel a sense of uniqueness and start thinking how your company and industry is so unique.

The reality is that although there is a bit of truth in terms of the uniqueness of each company, at the core there are fundamentals that need to be followed like in any other company. You need to find opportunities to steps out, restart and view everything with a clean set of eyes. This is where there is opportunity to challenge the assumptions that we have. We are all biased, and it is important to understand our level of bias.
