This morning, I was reading on the new rules of Marketing and PR how there has been this journey with videos becoming more casual (less the production budgets) and becoming the most impactful way to get your brand message across. As Marketers, we have to understand our long term view of video, and how this will be used to creatively execute our brand objectives.

Over the years, I have believed that video production is something that all brands should have in house for the on the go brand content, and then work with specialist agencies for campaign driven work or video that requires more creativity than what your team is able to do. The need for video is endless, and our strategies need to take this into consideration and so should how our teams are organized.

Practical ways for teams to win with video;

· Get a videographer to be a part of your marketing team (it helps that you have a good content strategy in place so that the role will be crystal clear)

· Spend time in understanding the different video formats, and how you can best use each format in your marketing.

· Clear treatment plans will need to be developed, this will ensure that you keep your video content on brand.

· Don’t be afraid to try out new things, it’s through trying that you will be really good at video.

Four tips for you to get started, remember, content is king and video is your most valuable delivery vehicle.
